Breaking: Governor Dankwambo joins PDP presidential race

Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe, long speculated to be interested in Nigeria’s 2019 presidential race finally confirmed his intention on Saturday August 4.
In a tweet, Dankwambo said he will be contesting for the highest seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, “After wide consultations with party members & Nigerians of diverse backgrounds! I, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo will be running for office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party. #GoingBeyondPromises,” he said.
He is the fifth aspirant to announce his candidacy in the PDP. Others are former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, who only two weeks went to Gombe to solicit Dankwambo’s support, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna and chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa, Attahiru Bafarawa, former governor of Sokoto and Tanimu Turaki, a former minister of the Jonathan era,
Other possible candidates are Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Senator Bukola Saraki and Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto. They are yet to make their plans known, officially. Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that former governor of Sokoto state Attahiru Bafarawa, formally declared his intention to run for the 2019 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Going further, Bafarawa claimed that he brought President Muhammadu Buhari into active politics.

Breaking: Senator Akpabio reportedly defects from PDP – APC newspaper claims

APC newspaper is reporting that Senate minority leader and former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Godswill Akpabio, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The APC newspaper reported this on their Facebook page in two different postings on Saturday, August 4. According to the post, the former governor will formerly decamp on Thursday, August 9 and Nigeria’s acting president, Prof Yemi Osibanjo will be at Ikot Ekpene stadium to receive him.

Wizkid’s obsession with Tiwa Savage grows
Tiwa Savage has said before in her hit song that she doesn’t want secret love ‘Kelekele Love’ and what could be more timely than their duet “Malo” ( meaning ‘don’t go’) and both get really emotional when they perform the song together, as evident in the 02 Arena’s epic performance. Could Wizkid be succumbing to Tiwa’s aversion to secret love by using her picture as his Twitter display picture? Your guess is as good as anyone’s. But it is not only Wizkid making all the moves. Tiwa is actively leading him on too and they seem to have struck a good chemistry. “You already know how emotional I get, so this is just making me teary. Forget music, you’ve been there for me even when you didn’t have to be. When I doubt myself, you call me ‘mama JamJam’ and put a smile on my face. My dear Ayo, mama Jam Jam loves you,” Tiwa once purred in response to a Wizkid’s post.
